Following Olgivanna Wright's death in 1985, a large number of books (roughly 1,400) were assembled at Taliesin West and called the "Olgivanna Lloyd Wright Library." Many of these works, however, must orginally have been part of Frank Lloyd Wright's library. In 1988 a list of these books was made and they were placed in boxes. Only some of these boxes, or the books that were in them, survive today. In 2018 I examined these books and made bibliographic records of the ones I determined could have belonged originally to Wright. These are compiled and described in the "Olgivanna Wright's books" section of this database.
The hundreds of books on the 1988 list that no longer survive are in most cases difficult to identify, since the list gives very incomplete bibliographic citations (sometimes not even giving the author or the actual book title). I was nevertheless able to identify about 120 works that I determined were likely to have belonged originally to Wright's library. They are included in this section of the database, with a note for each one that specifies the way it was described on the 1988 list. The book title and edition that are listed for each work are not necessarily those of the book that was in Wright's library (a specific title and edition had to be selected as part of the database process). The book's description on the 1988 list should be considered in forming a notion of what the book may have been.
